Photographs by Raymond Moore
These photographs have been taken from several published sources, but primarily I am indebted to Creative Camera for reproducing so many over the years.
None have been copied from Moore's published books, but some come from the Creative Camera Yearbook of 1977. The images therefore all pre-date 1976 and were printed in the dark, high-contrast (European) style that Moore was using at that time. Much of his later work was much softer and subtle in tone.
So far, no one has been able to tell me where the copyright rests for these images, but I imagine it may still be with Ray's widow, Mary Cooper. If anyone can shed any light on this please let me know. In the meantime, I would like to acknowledge the Raymond Moore Archive (wherever it may be) and hope the custodian(s) of this will have no objection to my reproducing these images here to make up for the lack of information about this great British photographer on the web.
As these are scanned from printed reproductions the quality is not great, but I hope they convey something of the style and content of Moore's work - which can really only be experienced fully in an original print.
