A brief, but intense and moving, slideshow with an audio commentary by McCullin over at the BBC.

An exhibition of his work, to mark his 75th year, is being held at the Imperial War Museum North, in Manchester, from the 6th February until 13th June.

Don McCullin is possibly one the greatest photographers this world has seen. His humility and sensibilities make him an unlikely candidate for the intensely dangerous role of war photographer, but it is almost as if he was chosen for this task - and protected for its duration - by some guiding force intent on showing us all the horrors of conflict and deprivation.
