This series of monochrome pictures of the Gibberd Garden were made over a period of two years, in 2005 and 2006. The original commission was to document aspects of the garden in colour, but during the course of work it became apparent that many scenes would work well in black and white.
The advantage of shooting digital in this instance was that immediate realisation of the possibilites could be achieved. These pictures work well as colour, but I prefer them in shades of grey. Nikon D200, with either 12-24mm or 24-120mm lenses.
