The pictures in these three sets, Mersea 01, 02 and 03, were taken on a single visit to Mersea Island, Essex, UK, lasting around two hours during May 2005.
I had first photographed Mersea back in the early 1980s and this return was prompted by my placing some of those old pictures on this site in the By The Sea sets. I was interested to see how this place had changed 20 years on (not much) and also to see whether or not I could come back with a small set of pictures that I was happy with.
I've barely scratched the surface of what could be done in this wonderful little village - more visits are called for!
I parked the car next to The Old Victory, previously an inn I imagine, which flies the skull and crossbones as a reminder that pirates are still around.
