This was made in failing light late on a winter's
afternoon at Salt's Mill,
Saltaire, not far from
David Hockney's birthplace in Bradford, Yorkshire and home to a gallery of his work.
As I climbed these steps, an image of Bill Brandt's 'A Snicket in Halifax' came to mind.
Of course, this is neither a snicket nor is it Halifax, but it is in Yorkshire - and a pale imitation of
Brandt's 1937 original I have to say.
