This
last picture in the series is a kind of homage to
Ralph
Eugene Meatyard, whose work I believe to be one of the most important
and seminal explorations of photography in the 20th century. His book
of landscape photographs of the
Red
River Gorge
in
Kentucky is well worth seeking out.
The brightness range of this scene was extreme, and my exposure and development
were way off, but I like the way it turned out and it fits with my thinking
behind this series of pictures.
